SEIKO Velatura is a collection of high performance marine watches for men and women, each of which combines innovation of function with refinement in design. At the heart of the collection are two entirely new calibers, Kinetic Direct Drive and a Yachting Timer, both designed expressly for Velatura and for the needs of professional and recreational sailors alike.
Looking at the Velatura Diver you see familiar features, such as the 12 hour chronograph and rotating bezel. Seiko has added some friendly legibility accents such as the different colors on the dial. The case is a combination of steel, carbon fiber, and urethane. The SEIKO Velatura Chronograph comes in choice of black or orange dial.
The SEIKO Velatura Diver Chronograph is offered in two executions, one with a urethane strap and the other with a steel bracelet, inset with urethane panels. The orange dial really pops against the black bezel. The case is really interesting the way it is designed, the lugs sweep down out of the main body of the case. The chrono pushers have screw down collars for water resistant security. The lug width is 26mm wide and the strap is a nice thick PU rubber, not silicone. The buckle is a nice custom touch too. Of course the lume is traditional Seiko torch quality.
The chronograph caliber 7T92 is well suited to the Velatura design and the 200 meter water resistance offered by the screw crown, screw button, and screw caseback completes this new offering in the Seiko Velatura collection. Perfectly designed for all marine sports, the new Diver Chronograph has all the features that have made the collection so successful – the sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, the high-legibility dial, and the design touches that reflect the world of high performance marine sport. It is offered in two executions, one with a urethane strap and the other with a steel bracelet, inset with urethane panels.
