June 18, 2009

Citizen is the leader in the field of production ecology-friendly timepieces equipped with its revolutionary Eco-Drive technology that absorbs natural or artificial light to make the watch run continuously for a lifetime of use. Citizen Eco-Drive watches never need a battery, a really advantageous feature. If your watch is put away where no light is available to it while in a fully charged state, depending on the model, it will run for 45 days to 5 years.

The Citizen Eco-Drive BL5350-59 Perpetual Calendar is a solar-powered watch that is both stylish and eco-friendly. A perpetual calendar is an extremely elaborate complication that keeps track of the day, month, date, length of the month and for leap years without the need for manual correction until the year 2100. You’ll never have to touch the calendar once it has been set.

The Citizen BL5350-59 is completely made of titanium – the weight is super light for its size and yet feels heavy duty. It’s a large watch that you don’t feel on the wrist. The case is well finished. Bracelet feels strong. Bracelet is adjusted by removing full or half links, don’t lose those little inserts in the links or you are screwed. Solid end links and no overall rattle to the watch. A combo of brushed and polished finish gives it a nice shiny look.

The Citizen Eco-Drive BL5350-59 Perpetual Calendar watch has a case diameter of 44 mm with a case thickness of 12.5 mm. Yet, this watch only comes in at a weight of 58 grams thanks to it’s titanium finish. It is also a chronograph and has a stopwatch with a resolution of 1/20th of a second, capable of measuring elapsed times up to 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59.95 seconds.

Boasting the precision of quartz movement, this dress chronograph watch features a polish titanium navy blue unidirectional rotating bezel with silver-tone border and numbers. The watch also features a dark blue dial with easy-to-read brushed silver-tone hands and markers, as well as an analog date display. Lume on the hands is blue, markers a blue green, the hands lume outshines the marker lume but is fine, not super bright but does last all night. Very easy to read piece despite being a busy dial with lots of functions and function markers on the outer chapters from about 4 to 8. Water resistant to 100 meters, this everyday watch comes with an interactive instructional CD-Rom.
